Creating your own yarn
Taking into account the fact that the yarn collections presented by Michell & Cia each season seek to satisfy the demands of its clients, we now take one step further by offering a more personalised service which aims to meet the highest demands and standards required by each of our clients , helping them to create their own unique yarn (blend, thickness, effect and colour). Michell & Cia provides support to that end in the development process and final creation of these new yarns.
Our Fibres
For Michell & Cia it is of vital importance to identify the raw materials and the percentage of which our yarns will be produced. The following is a shortlist of the fibres which allow us to develop our own, and your, proposals using different blends in their composition:
Natural Fibres
Alpaca
Wool
Superwash Wool
Mulberry Silk
Tussah Silk
Cashmere
Camel
Yak
Linen
Cotton
Man-Made Fibres
Bamboo
Tencel
Synthetic Fibres
Nylon
Acrylic
Donegal
Microtweed
Minilondra
Stellina
Lurex
All blends of fibre are intimate, except for cotton and lurex, with which we design products based on a blend in the form of thread in the case of cotton and/or in the form of filaments in the case of lurex.
One of our main objectives at Michell is to develop yarns predominantly composed of natural fibres.
Types of yarn
Our clients are the inspiration behind the development of this platform. To that end, Michell Labs has implemented tools and processes to facilitate the development of new yarns from their typology or conception through to their PRESENTATION.

The Michell Labs platform provides information on the very latest alternatives and options we offer so that our clients have a clear vision of the yarns being developed for them. However, for those clients who want to take one step further, Michell & Cia puts its Research and Development (R&D) Team at your disposal and welcomes you to visit its installations in Arequipa, Peru and to participate directly in the choice of colour and design that you require.
